Assistance to Filipino Nationals

It is the declared policy of the government to promote the welfare and well-being and protect the rights of all overseas Filipinos. The Consulate General, and all Philippine Foreign Service posts shall be responsible for the development and implementation of arrangements and mechanisms for the promotion of the interest of Filipino Nationals.

While, as a general rule, the Consulate General, and particularly the foreign service officers, shall not intervene in official proceedings of host government authorities. The Consulate General shall be responsible in ensuring the protection of the rights and interests of all Filipinos, particularly in cases of injury, oppression, discrimination, and deprivation of liberty.
